The Viair are pricey but worth it.
For me, even though the compressor is a small footprint, I wish they would make the case you you can remove the bags that hold the hoses and move them (or add velcro) to the top of the case. This would make the footprint of the bag about 6-8" narrower front to back. Every inch helps when you're stowing stuff in the basement bays.

I definitly understand your concern. I didn't want to spend the money either on a automobile air compressor, so over 4 years I bought 3 box stores compressors and blew up all 3 just trying to keep my fifth wheel tires at 80 psi from fluctuating temperatures and a cold temp setting of only 15 psi differance. I finally said what the heck did I have to lose because I obviously can not depend on the $100 compressors. The vlair has been awesome working and was worth the investment and the best part it is the piece of mind
