I also have a Q100 that I've been using for almost 10 years. To me it's one of the best grills because of the cast iron grate. It has very even heat over the entire surface. I just have to clean it about once per season with oven cleaner and recently replaced the igniter and that's all I've had to do to it.

Q100 here! Added the side shelves a few years ago. This year I got a 5# propane bottle. Now it is perfect. Fits right in the front compartment of the camper. We also have a Q3000 at home. we like the Webers.

I've had a Q100 since August, 2007 and all it has needed is an occasional cleaning. They are a great little grill and very compact for RV use.

Lid off
JohnBike - thanks for the tip about removing the lid. Our previous grill fit nicely in our lower compartment. The Weber grill was about 1” too high to fit in the opening for that compartment. So, I had to put the Weber in the upper compartment. Shouldn’t have been a big deal, but for some reason I just couldn’t get used to the way things had to be arranged (I’m really a creature of habit!). Now, I just pop off the lid, slide it in and then put the lid back on top.

Say Hello To My 'NEW' Little Friend...
Picked up the Q1000 at my local ACE Hardware. They give a 10% veteran discount as well.
Pictured is the 20+ year old grill that is being replaced.

My tip for those averse to cleaning the grates: I place them in the home oven and set it to the clean cycle. 2-3 hours later its burned off all the old crud.
I also remove the nearest smoke alarm and ventilate the kitchen.
Once cooled I'll perform a touch up cleaning (if required), paint them with cooking oil (both sides) and return them to the oven for another (shorter) regular heat cycle. They come out shiny 'n slick as can be.
Safety tip: after oiling them up watch them for a bit, small fires have happened with excess oil. Don't let it get out of hand.

I bough pt our Q1200 in 2014 when we bought our first TT. The only issue I’ve had is it stopped working with a big propane tank about two years ago but still likes the little ones. I’m actually planning to replace it with a Blackstone because I spend too much time cooking veggies and then the rest. It’s just not quite big enough.

Weber Q1000 Portable Gas Grill Experiences Please

I’m leaning toward a Q now myself. Haven’t had any grill for a few years. Bought a Coleman Roadtrip in ‘14, it was ok until the darn thing caught fire a couple of years later! Known defect in the propane flow through the control panel. Saved the Swordfish steaks, then put the fire out! Coleman insisted on sending me a new one, which was ok, but ultimately just too big when it comes to fulltiming. Sold it on CL. Now I think I’ll try a Q.

I use grill mats. Nothing gets below the mats, grill and grates stay clean.

I have seen these in passing but had not given them much thought. Your post sure catches my attention. Grill mats are now on the list of things we need to get before the next trip.

We use the Weber at home all the time and it works great but I wouldn’t want to use it as the RV grill. It doesn’t seem to lend itself to being packed and unpacked frequently and it has to many parts that migrate in transit. I do love the Napoleon Travel Q though, it is easy to pack/unpack and easy to keep clean. Cooks well too!

Love mine
Love my Q1200. I've had it for about 5 years. My favorite thing is I added the griddle plate which replaces 1 of the 2 grill grates. Love cooking fish and veggies with it. It's a great grill.
