White Perforated Window Vinyl

Just saw this item being installed on a couple of rigs as it is suppose to reduce indoor heat. It stays on permanently and is applied to the side windows and is relatively inexpensive. Might be great in hot country.

Anyone familiar with this product?

Possibly like this? Scotchcal Perforated Window Graphic Film :3M US

If you didn't have a graphic printed on the film, it would be white.

Could be. I just saw the stuff applied to a couple of rigs in the park and wanted to see if it actually worked at reducing heat inside.

If double paned windows, I would be very leary of putting anything on the inside of the coach window that even MIGHT reflect light/heat back into the sealed area. This will cause an early demise of the window seal.

On the application that I saw, the vinyl was put on the exterior of the windows.

Our local transit buses are wrapped in this film all the time with ad graphics. The problem I see is that 3M calls these 'short term, removable' which is fine for an ad, but might be a bit pricey on an RV if you're looking for a permanent or long lasting heat shield.
