2012 Tiffin 36LA surround sound

One day my surround system worked, the next it doesn't. Nothing changed. Have a Panasonic unit in the deck behind the bedroom TV. Using the Panasonic remote I turn on this unit, set it to D-in and I control surround volume by aiming at any IR sensor in the coach. This just stopped working. The only place I can change volume is by pointing directly at the Panasonic box.
Aiming at the IR sensors on the TVs in the main cabin makes them pulse rapidly but does not change volume. The IR controller appears fine and is lit/active.
Any ideas as to what happened?

Confirmed the IR transmitters work as they pulse blue when aimed at with remote.
Confirmed that signal gets to the IR controller in bedroom as unit flashes blue when transmitters are hit with remote.
Emitter that sits in front of Panasonic surround system is dead as indicated when looking at it through a front facing camera of an iPhone 6 while hitting transmitter with remote. This trouble shooting technique is posted on the IR controller website. When you look at the remote control IR transmitter through the digital camera, you see it blink when any button is depressed.
I ordered a new emitter and cable from Amazon for $10. If that doesn't fix it, it is the controller. It may be receiving signal but not sending it back out to the emitter.
