2018+ Grand Cherokee Map Update

Tried updating our 2018 GC Map/s and was told there's no update available? I believe the last GC update was in 2017.
Has anyone been able to update their 2018 or newer Grand Cherokee? We like to use Google Maps with the unit.
Was also told our UConnect software is also up to date. First time I looked into updating that too.
IMHO it's pretty sorry there's no updates made to our system.

I get periodic emails from UConnect to update. Cost $100 with some small discounts if you order before some deadline. I did one update but now I ignore it because google maps on my iPhone is just as reliable. Really not much new on the UConnect previous updates. Guess it all depends on how many new destinations you are searching.

Thanks for the response! Good to know you did update your map. Don't understand why UConnect says my software is up to date and that there are no map updates

I updated the maps on my 2018 Grand Cherokee about 6 mos ago. Can't remember the exact date but the package had two thumb drives. One updated the radio software and one updated the maps.

My GC was delivered in December 2017 and had maps that were several years old at that time. I updated in 2021 which was the first time that updates for my GC were available.

I have a '08 Grand Cherokee with Uconnect, which I bought in 2017 - which is great but the maps are out of date. I went to the uconnect site and found that the last update was 2017 and was $149.
I ordered it but then my mind kicked in and I wondered what the update did - what level of maps and what level of "system" it came up to. I called the number on the site and got the following info:
The Uconnect Screen image is what my Jeep has. The problem is that the numbers don't jive. My screen shot, which has 15 year old (not sure if it was ever updated) O/S and Maps has totally different numbers than they are offering with the update. They say the update will update the maps but were unsure about the "system".
I need to reach out to DavL and see what he can decipher for me.
