This is good news. If fast enough, I'll use I at home too.

I plan to test Virgin Mobile at my house. Verizon performance at our new house is modest to lousy compared to where we lived before. I told Verizon I was not pleased with their performance, and pricing compared to what Virgin is offering. Will see what they come back with, but I can guess (don't let the door hit you when you leave). I do like Verizon's coverage. I don't think the Sprint broadband network is as good outside of metro areas, but only by hearsay.
BTW, we have lived pretty well with mobile broadband internet only for over a year despite the mediocre performance here. I went month-to-month, no-contract.

I was under the impression that Virgin Mobile used Verizonwireless towers.

Guess I'm sticking with Verizon for now. Speeds are all over the map, but I read the Virgin/Sprint folks experience that also. Just measured 270Kbps down and 80 up which is high average at my house. The main problem with Virgin for me is no coverage where we winter in Arizona. Wouldn't mind saving a Jackson a month tho.

I have my cell with Sprint and had their wireless net for quite some time.
Since the house is now wi-fi set up I didn't need the monthly fee. Now whey I travel I take the lap top and use a virgin mobile aircard.
The cool thing is you can buy the full blown deal for $40/mnth or in my case sometimes the campsites have wi-fi so I only need it occassionally. In this case you buy $10 increments which give you 100 MB data and/or access for 10 days.
I teach online and this is perfect for me. If you're into streaming videos, etc probably not. The speed of the virgin air card is 3G even though I have the 4G sprint EVO. I figure once we start full timing I'll just use sprint. Every dollar helps pay the diesel bill!

Spurs - I play games on pogo and do the farm and zoo in Facebook. Do you find you have enough strength to do things like them?

The 3G and 4G networks are pretty incredible. The key thing I have to look for is the coverage maps. With our sprint contract we have free roaming so if there is another company around we have coverage.
