Having been "lurking" on the Datastormusers forum for some time,I've finally decided to add an automatic dish to my coach.
I'm having a Motosat F2 dish with a D3 Controller and a 7000 modem installed today.

While there's an abundance of help over on the Datastorm forum, I got to wondering what my fellow iRV2'ers thought of the dish method of receiving internet.
Interesting to note that we're not doing away with the Verizon Aircard,we'll use that underway and away from the coach.

We have not gone this route as of yet but I wanted to add that there is a new Technology coming in the near future. I was talking with the Southeast KVH service Rep the other day to set up training for some of my techs next month and he was telling me of a new less expensive KVH Satellite/Verizon partnership to deliver high speed internet that will allow two users to be on line at the same time. One will use a keyboard and TV much like the old Web TV and the other can use their laptop. I think the upload will be through Verizon and the download will be through the satellite side. Subscription is suposed to be like $40/mo.

I have the Direcway system at home but haven't delved into taking it with me in the RV because I don't know how to align the dish to the appropriate satellite. Any quick tips would be appreciated.

We have the MotoSat system and wouldn't be without it. We fulltime and rely on the Intranet to conduct all our personal business, yes you can do it without satellite Intranet but it is much more convenient.
