Any use for Verizon Jetpack 8744?

Did the initial service for a month was okay, but the comped me an extra 10gB, thank you.

After disuse for a couple of months, they cancelled the account.

Now I seek web access for a short trip and probably temporary home use (moving). It seems, from reading threads here, that it is solely for Verizon, no other even with a SIM card change.

Visible may be an option for my relatively low demands (DSL at current home) for feeding the RV's Roku and a router.

I'm a recovering doofus on this subject matter! Thanks in advance.

Path of least resistance is to figure out how to turn your phone into a hot spot. What kinda phone do you have?

I opted for a jetpack a few summers ago when we were traveling for a few mos and needed reliable inet. Agent told me if I purchased the unit outright I could turn on / off on monthly basis as needed. Sounded like a good path as we do travel for a couple mos at a time.
Canceled service at end of first use and when I requested it be turned on got hit for $40 fee... when questioned was told dont cancel just suspend svc.
So next time I suspended except the $10/mo fee continued. Oh then they said if you suspend no restart fee but the mo fee continues!
WTF - not the only Verizon problem... I told them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine and came close to canceling Verizon completely and switching carriers... still contemplating that move.
