Watching Jamie Oliver cooking Italian food on it now. Verizon initially said we'd have a year free. Now it says six months? DW likes some of the channels but once it goes paid...probably not staying.

Like everything you gotta control your life. TV is NOT life, it is a way of winding down at the end of a day.
I hate fees (bank, credit cards, phone apps) and too many streaming channels are in that list. We only have Netflix and Prime. Which are way better than Cable, Sat, or Over The Air. Almost no advertising.

Discovery Plus is pulling a lot of programming from HGTV and DIY we have noticed lately.
Unfortunate for the wife since she likes a lot of the shows that are leaving for the streaming channel.
Discovery Plus I predict will survive and grow. Cord cutting is the future.

I pay too much to Dish Network already, and the places I go in the summer, there is no internet to watch anything.

I will not, being I am paying for these shows already on Dish. If I subscribed to every streaming app that has a show that I want to watch I would be broke.

When I would go to the carnival as a kid, there was always a show where you could go see the weird and unusual - the two faced man, the bearded lady, etc. Once you bought your ticket and entered the tent, you would be offered an opportunity to go see something else in a side tent, such as the corpse of a mummified mermaid. But, you had to pay an extra dime or quarter to get in there. That seems to be the tactic these networks are pursuing these days. It's all a carnival sideshow that costs extra each time you turn around.

We watch several of the shows now on Spectrum TV (old time warner). We see the move to streaming Discovery Plus.
I quickly looked it up the other day. I was not certain if the fee $7 fee was per each show or all all the shows.
Not sure we will pay for it. DW has real state shows and I like a few shows like goldrush and deadliest catch.

It's $4.99 per month with commercials or $6.99 per month without. That's for unlimited streaming of all the shows.

So this thread doesn't even apply to you at all then?
I've been watching some stuff that I like just because it's there. But we're only on the road a couple of times a year and have all that stuff on the house cable. If at some point DW insists she just has to watch the Food Channel on her phone out in the wild then I might pay. I guess. They're really just not bringing a whole lot to the table at about Hulu's price point. Perhaps if they merged with another streaming service (or two) I might see more value. Until then...no.
