Anyone using RF Mogul Satellite Dish

Just wondering if anyone has installed a RF Mogul satellite dish model # RFM 4100 SWM. I now use the older MotoSat dish but would like to upgrade so that I can get a High Def signal for my flatscreen TV's.

Thanks,
Sammie

Yep.
For DirecTV HD.
Fired it up and first thing my wife said was she had never seen 100% signal strength on sat transponders before! The RF Mogul dish is slightly bigger (.75M I believe). Does a very good job of finding satellites and pulling in signal. And if you need to easy to update firmware with an SD card. Had one issue with ours, the skew motor became iffy and they sent me a new one to swap in, no hassles. Been very happy with it. Ours went in this spring to replace a Kingdome in-motion unit.

Can you comment on its sturdiness? Looks lean and mean compared to a Trav'ler. others have thought this a sin of weakness.

You didn't mention it is SWM and supports the newest technologies and receivers.

It is and does One thing you will have to keep in mind is SWM is single cable down from the dish. If your current dish/dome has 2 cables (dual LNB) one feeding a receiver in front, one feeding a separate receiver in back, you need to connect that second cable to the RF mogul controller. You need to think about this and your coaches coax wiring for Sat connections when going to an SWM dish.

Oregon Coast winter storms have not bothered it. I tell the wife rule of thumb is when the coach (on jacks) rocks hard enough that the picture starts breaking up due to the wind, pull the dish down, but we've had no issues with it. It has a wide mounting footprint and wind and rain have not bothered it. I like the footprint better than the round Winegard system but this is personal opinion.

Note it is priced more or less competitively with MotoSat and they are going thru changes. When I talked to our chosen installer down in Eugene OR, I actually opted for MotoSat first since RF Mogul was very new at the time, but MotoSat never delivered on the order so we switched to RF Mogul. The rest as they say is history.
