AT&T and Verizon Post Paid 5G Data Plans

I was out today getting current information from AT&T and Verizon for their Post Paid 5G data plans to use with my Cradlepoint R1900 5G Router and Panorama 5G MiMo antenna. Last year I was on an AT&T 25 GB Data Connect 5G Post Paid plan for a while and it worked out well. This year I will be needing more data which is why I was out gathering current information on 5G data plans.

AT&T Data Connect has a 100 GB 5G Post Paid plan, unfortunately nothing higher, for $90.00 per month. Verizon has a 100 GB 5G Post Paid plan for $80.00 per month and 150 GB 5G Post Paid plan for $110.00 per month. I need to figure out just how much data I will be needing. I will have an additional 40 GB of Hotspot if I need more.

I am curious if anyone is using either of these Post Paid data plans and what their experience has been with signal strength, data speeds, reliability, and general performance/connectivity across the US, and if applicable, Canada and Mexico.

Thanks in advance...

Not if you stream a lot of TV. My home used 360 GB last month and we only have two people living here.

Might want to check out the FMCA plans and the TMobile unlimited data plan.
FMCA has unlimited on ATT for $65 and 290GB Verizon plan offerings.
I have been using the FMCA ATT plan and happy with it.

I don’t have the 5G plan but have had the ATT 100gb 4g plan for over a year for $55/month and it’s great. It is now a backup for my Starlink.

It's not a lot of data even if you don't stream video. My wife and I can go through a couple of GB a day using our laptops to surf the internet and read news stories on sources such as the NYTimes, FOX or MSNBC. Every time one of those pages is refreshed or updated, data is used. Furthermore, if you watch a video on Facebook, that's the same as streaming.

We can easily use 100 GB a month with no actual video streaming. Streaming of TV shows can consume a couple of GB per hour depending on the speed of your connection.

I have Verizon unlimited plan. Unlimited everything. Works in Mexico and Canada. $92 a month for 2 lines. Why limit yourself?
I had the 55Plus plan for $92, it was discontinued, they changed it to 5G Start and gave me a discount back down to $92. Even with regular discounts for auto pay and such, the cost would be around $110 for 2 lines.

With all due respect, I suspect your plan doesn't provide for unlimited hotspot data. Although some grandfathered plans do provide this, I don't believe sny current Verizon plans do. Most likely you have ~20-40 GB of hotspot data per month.

As for use in Canada and Mexico. the hotspot data has a daily budget. In Canada it used to be 0.5 GB/day. I think it's now something like 1 GB/day. The good news is that you can pay to get more data.

As mentioned previously 100 GB of data isn't all that much. Last year I was on a 25 GB per month 5G data plan with AT&T and I was surprised how fast that 25 GB was consumed. I wasn't doing any streaming other than a YouTube video occasionally. I was primarily surfing the Internet and writing emails. The days of unlimited data only plans don't appear to be available today unfortunately. My phone has unlimited data and 40 GB per month of hotspot data that comes with my top tier AT&T plan.

AT&T and Verizon are the 2 providers I am considering, as from what I can determine, they have the best 5G coverage where available. From my AT&T experience last year I know their data, and phone service, works well across the US as well as Canada and Mexico. I will undoubtedly add the 100 GB Data Connect to my existing AT&T account.

All I know is my current plan has 5gb of guaranteed high speed mobile hotspot. After that, it is unlimited, but may be at a reduced speed. So far, we have not noticed any degradation of speed while using the mobile hotspot for several hundred gigabytes of streaming.
We got rid of our dedicated hotspots years ago, and just use our phone's mobile hotspot now.

Get a Visible (by Verizon) pre paid plan for $40 a month or less, it has true unlimited data that is easily fast enough to stream live sports. Current plans only allow 1 hotspot device

Its never throttled !

So Tmobile wasn't on your list, but they do postpaid 100gb Hotspot plans for $50/mo.

Sorry, I was thinking data rate instead of cumulative data. I just use my phone as a hot spot for my TVs and my plan is unlimited. I haven't hit the limit but have only used it for about 2 weeks streaming at a time.

Might not be throttled, but it is definitely de-prioritized. In crowded locations, you're at the bottom of the barrel. At least, that was my experience.
