Can I buy a used starlink?

I’m considering getting starlink because my wife needs good wifi to work remotely when we go camping. With shipping and taxes the hardware cost is $692. I’m seeing some used starlink equipment on FB marketplace for around $400. What are your thoughts on buying that used equipment vs buying new?

Hi Rob. I just did this myself and it was quick, easy, and painless to set up a new account on the used equipment. The previous owner needs to go into their Starlink account and "transfer" the equipment - they don't need your information, it's just a way of telling Starlink that the equipment can now be set up with a new account. If the previous owner has already removed the equipment from their account before you purchase from them, everything else is easy and self-explanatory. I am using the dish right now for our first trip and it has performed like a champ for the last four days through some crazy weather, consistent in an area with sketchy Verizon service.
