CoPilot Navigation App?
Hello Folks,
I would appreciate opinions on the CoPilot Navigation application. Available for both Cars and Trucks.
I am considering purchasing and would love your feedback.
Thanks, JohnnyB

I use it every trip and it works great. I have an 8 inch tablet that I use it on. It even has Rv settings.

Which SW Version?
Are you using the auto or the much more expensive truck version?
Thanks, JohnnyB

I downloaded it to my IPAD and so far it has been spot on. Of course I lost use of my IPAD while we drive but I feel like it was worth it.

I use it on a nexus 7 with the RV setting. About the only issue I have with it is map updates seem to be behind. New roads will be there quite some time to get in. Also have Sygic which I like. Sometimes looking up addresses is picky and next turns come later than I like in that one. Not enough time to get into the proper lane. But to me those are the two best ones.

I used CoPilot for about 4 versions on my laptop but when I went to Windows 7 (64) the program just wouldn't work. In addition what had been a great customer support setup deteriorated into something where they wouldn't answer the phone or return emails, so I went to DeLorme Street Atlas. It works, but has a 1990 pre-Windows format setup that is anything but user friendly, and is definitely not intuitive. No info on the latest CoPilot but from their web page and ads it looks like they're more into aps and phones than a reasonable laptop program. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has the version that will run on a Win7 machine without the LIVE nonsense. When we travel we're out of cell and wifi contact a large part of our trips. I also ONLY make phone calls on my phone.

I purchased it recently and found it really neat for some stuff like route planning...but as a GPS far inferior to my Garmin and sending me on routes that were less quick to destination.
Still...for 10 bucks to have all the maps of the USA stored on my tablet without requiring an internet connection...and being able to see my position and zoom all the way in and out on a 10" screen is well worth the bucks. No way I would pay $149 for the trucker version. Oh yeah...mine is the android version so there may be differences vs. the IOS version.
Note that maps may be downloaded with a wifi connection in more byte sized regional chunks...but the whole country is around 4GB and cannot be stored on an outboard SD card ...YET. This would be my most asked for feature!

I use the GPS CoPilot app on my Ipad mini and think it is very good for the price. The maps are downloaded onto your device (it requires almost 2GB of memory) so you don't need to have internet access.
You do, however, need a GPS device. My Ipad mini does not have a GPS so I bought one that connects with the Ipad thru Bluetooth. Amazon.com: Dual Electronics XGPS150A Universal Bluetooth GPS Receiver for Portable Devices: GPS & Navigation
The combination works terrific for my TV.

Howdy!
I've been using Co-Pilot for a few years now as our go to GPS and it has not failed me. I us it on my tablet in our MDT/5er and love the large screen. Use the same app on my smartphone in our Smart Car and scooter. Nice thing is once you purchase the app you can load it on other devices. Only reason I would see a need to purchase the Trucher version is if your RV is over 13' and I beleive that version only go to 13.6'. The app was $4.99 when I first purchased it.

It appears I am definitely in the minority here. I have Co-pilot on an Android tablet. Have found it to be less than accurate both in its routing and when getting to the actual destination. Have seen it as much as a block off from where is says the location is and where it actually is. Does almost always get (note almost) close enough. The routing and other features are acceptable but nothing particularly exceptional. Have not found anyway to load GPX file for either POI's or a preplanned trip form MS Street & Trips. Neither my wife or I have been happy with the Co-pilot and will be getting a Garmin. We are presently work camping through April. Before hitting the road again we will be getting a Garmin again. Last one was stolen which is why I decided to try Co-pilot. Personally find it easier to plan longer trips using MS Streets & Trips, then load them into the Garmin using a GPX file.

I have the app on my iPad. In addition to that, I'm seriously over-dosed on routing options: GPS, laptop with Microsoft Streets & Trips, Google Maps on the phone, MapSource for route planning, etc. etc. etc. Of all of these, I find CoPilot to be the least useful. Compared to everything else, the user interface is clunky, I agree that the routing is eccentric, the POI lists are lacking, and it lacks a number of useful features that you've probably gotten used to with other options. If CoPilot is the only option in your RV, it'll probably work OK for you, but if you have other options you may like them better.

X2, tried it for a while and deleted it, there are much better options.

I have read reviews of the Co-Pilot app and made the decision 2 years ago to buy the Sygic GPS app. It has been a good experience. One license covers installation on all our Android devices. I cannot comment on Co-Pilot due to lack of experience.
I bought a Garmin 2595LMT but then returned it as the Sygic software was almost as good as the Garmin. Used on my cell phone the display was the same size and I always have my cell with me.
Last week in the Bay Area I experimented with Google Maps and Sygic on various routes. Sygic was better at accuracy. JMHO
