Crank Up Antenna to Crank Up Dish

Has anyone ever tried to replace the old style hand crank antenna on an RV with a folding dish, utilizing the same crank mechanism?

No. While anything can be fabricated that may work, there are no "kits" for this and getting enough stability for a dish on the existing mount seems problematic.

I would think the mechanism for the crank up satellite would be totally different, plus there is an azimuth ring on the underside of the ceiling for the crank up satellite so you know where it's pointing. It looks like you could pull all of the crank up antenna mechanism out and replace it all with the satellite in the same hole.
