Crappy updated Firefox

I just updated to the most recent Firefox and don't like anything about it. My Bookmarks are more difficult and takes more clicks to reach them, most of the time when I click on the desktop icon for Firefox it comes up in a small box that I have to Maximize to use it, the format for this Forum is different and more difficult to read, and generally I don't like anything about it. About ready to Restore to the previous Firefox.

Has anyone else experienced all this with the new updated Firefox or is it just a computer illiterate like me that's having all the problems? Is there any thing that was improved with the new edition of Firefox or just a change because someone needed to justiify their job?

I hate changes just for the sake of making a change. Sorry for the venting.

I'm on 9.0, the latest Firefox release and have no problems.

That is a windows setting NOT Firefox
Right click desk icon choose properties
On the "run" drop-down menu line select "maximize"
Click OK

OK?

I'm on Firefox V8.0 under XP and all is fine...

I may be getting used to the 8.0 update by now but I still don't like it as well as the previous one. Guess that's why I keep hesitating to download any updates, seems each one changes things that were working just fine the way it was.

Appreciate all the responses. Will try the suggestion on not having to maximize.

Oh, and by the way, somehow I seem to have lost my Google Chrome icon off my desktop. How do I get it back on there, can't remember how I got it there in the first place.

I was a long time Internet Explorer user when I changed to FireFox and had a hard time getting use to it. My favorite add on is the AdBlock Plus, no more popup adds or any others for that matter. Try to stick with it for a while before you go back.

Got it, works fine now. It was set on "Normal". How in the world do you guys learn and remember all the "right" clicks to use, which one then to click on, which drop down menu to use, and which line of the drop down does what? Seems everytime I get stumped and ask on the Forum I end up in an area I'd never been in before and had no idea it even existed on my computer.

I have Firefox 8.0 and I am seeing many Firefox sponsored pop-ups even though my settings are set to block pop-ups. I find pop-ups in general to be annoying so I am very frustrated that Firefox is doing it now too.

Do you have AdBlock Plus installed? It works great. (Of course, I abandoned Firefox for Google Chrome several months ago and never looked back. )

I'm glad you found your fix. I'm running FF 8.0.1 which is the highest version for MAC.

These are the Add-ons that I run and recommend

1Password
Adblock Plus
Cool Previews
Download Statusbar
Download Helper
Flagfox
PDF Download
WOT

Once you have used them and don't like one you can disable and remove it. I have no ads, pop-ups, or other interruptions running FF.

Happy trails.

p.s, Try sitting there with two monitors and running two different programs simultaneously from one computer (Dual Screen). My email is constantly visible in the right side monitor, and forums and active things are in front of me. I also have Windows running on this computer and I can switch between the two without any delay, and even drag and drop between them.

Isn't technology great?

I still run 3.6 firefox because all my purchased add ons won't work in a version over 3.6 which sucks. I think Firefox needs to quit re-inventing itself and just make everything work.

Can anyone get Sync to work more than 1 time? Finally got Xmarks and it sort of works. The save passwords saves only half of my passwords and only fills in 25% of them. I got Roboform years ago but they can't keep up with Firefox changes.

I own a software company and I program and I still can't keep up with the constant changes. They should do what AirStream did, fix it not redesign it.

I am running 8.0 as well.. FireFox is starting to get more like Microsoft in that they take a [program that is working well.. and "Improve" it. Messing up the user interface, and other things to the point where it becomes harder to use.

For example. I can not, for the life of me, get SYNC to work as it should, (Which is the way X-marks used to work) Anyone know how to kill it off in the current Fox?

Go to "Tools", "Add-ons", "Sync" and click on uninstall.
