For me, I just forget about it and drive with my normal routine, everything else is automatic.

Very good point. That's one reason why I decided on the Garmin. It comes on and off with the ignition but also stores video of a crash before and after so it cannot be overwritten. It also displays time and Lat/Long position on screen.
The Go Pro is a great device but it's Not a Dash Cam.

Thanks for all the feedback. I am leaning towards the Garmin even though it costs more. A lot of good reviews and the good luck I have had with other
Garmin Products made up my mind.

You were all appreciated.

My setup is exactly the same as above.

Another thought on these dash cams...

If the dash cam features motion-detection and will overwrite old data when the memory card is full, why not leave it ON even when you are parked? The power consumption is trivial. By plugging it into a power outlet that is NOT activated by the ignition switch you will materially have a [security] camera that monitors activity 24X7 in the area right in front of your windshield. We have set up both the dash cam in the MH as well as the one in the Toad this way.

We use the Sony Panorama S model (2014 version) and have been very happy with them. GPS is not standard but is an option.

Just a thought,

Purchased a Garmin Dash Cam 10 HD from the factory store. It is refurbished and has a one year warranty. About $125.00 plus tax and all.

I'm sure you'll be happy with it. If it doesn't come with a memory card, don't buy one until you know how large of a card it will work with, might save you some money.

It comes with a 4gb but I'm sure I'll want a bigger one. Thanks.
