DataStorm/MotoSat Ant
Our coach came with a monster dish on the roof but little paperwork. As best I can tell by the paperwork (Order/Bill) is that it is a F2 (.98)m dish, a D3 positioner (???), 4watt transmitter and an iDirect 3100 modem. The PO paid almost $12K for the system and the install. In the coach I found two "boxes" that look like modems/routers under the combo washer/dryer.
Other than the antenna being a bird perch, can this stuff be used for anything? I saw a "deploy" button on one of the boxes but my luck, the antenna would raise but not stow I would be looking for an overpass to get it back down

Playtime.....Holy Cow......I would use it as a sail and get a couple extra mpg!
Seriously though, it is probably obsolete and definitely old technology. If you decide to replace with something newer/smaller, MotoSat really aggravated their customers a while back. DirecTV had made some changes to their programming and the MotoSat's were not keeping pace. Several posted that their attitude was it was not their problem. I think they're cool looking with the LED light, but overpriced compared to the Winegard.

I had a similar situation when I bought my 05 Signature last year.
Along with faulty tv's, sound system etc., the tech said it may be cheaper to buy a new wine guard and install rather than waste time at $70 per hr or whatever it is to sort that peice of "c"
I took his advice.
I believe quite a few posters have working motosat systems.
I wouldn't waste a lot of time on it
I'm thinking it will cost $2500 installed for a new system or a traveller for just a few hundred.
IMHO.

That's an internet dish, not a sat TV dish. So any comparison in the previous comments to Winegard Sat TV dishes is invalid. Or comments about Motosat sat TV dishes.
If you're not looking for satellite internet, your best bet is to remove it. You might find a dealer that would buy it for parts, but you would probably only get a few hundred for it. Best bet to check that out would be the datastormusers.com site.
FWIW, I have a very similar system on the roof of our RV, but we have the 1.2 meter XF-3 dish. It's huge.

The dish is for internet, but it could be used for TV by adding a device called a bird on a wire (BOW). Getting it set up for TV could be a PITA since you're not familiar with satellite internet. People over on datastormusers.com might be able to help, but you might be better off getting rid of the F1 and getting a Winegard dish. With the demise of MotoSat, you will be lucky to be able to give the old F2 away, although there occasionally some people selling controllers and parts on eBay.
BTW, the 2 boxes you see are probably the controller and the modem. The D3 controller is the box with the search and stow buttons on it.

The BOW does not work on an F2. Only an F1 or G74.

x2 to what flyingdiver said, be aware that your dish seems to be configured for IDirect service and not Hughes
