Directv fooled me again

We use Directv only in the MH and only during from Nov to May. At the sticks and bricks we have Verizon FiOS and wouldn't trade it.

We went back to them for service with the understanding that we can suspend it for 6 months as we can the FiOS. No problem till I get the usual email with the next bill amount and date. Suddenly it goes from $38 to $69 without changing a thing. So I call and wade through the PIA prompts. After a couple of calls I find that even though we got a promotion deal, while it is suspended the time on it runs out. Funny thing is the time on the contact I swear we did not have and specifically said we would not do, does stop. So their end of the bargain runs out but mine does not.

I know that I wrote down all the names, times and dates when we set this up. Unfortunately it appears that is back in the house 1600 miles away and I really don't have anyone to dig it out.

Now our options are to keep "choice: for $60.99 plus tax and all or go to a lower package they don't seem to offer online for $44.99 + with less stations of course.

What we really need are local stations since where we spend most of the winter you can not get anything on an antenna and cable is not available to the site we rent but for the money I expect lots of non premium channels.

After we left them at the house for FiOS I swore we would never do business with them again but had a week moment and signed back up, I swear without a contract. I would write what I would say here but will save the moderators from having to edit it

BTW I did try to get Dish but at the time it was difficult to get an answer from them about mobile service. We stopped the mobile with Directv and just use our winter address. It is a little less and we get the locals for free that way.

They all get ya in the fine print... Internet, phone service or cable. Can't wait until new technology bumps them all out of business. They will probably just change their name like Sprint did and come back with another scam...

You can go with the lowest priced package and ADD locals for $3.00 per month...

We have a package they no longer offer and it did not have local channels. I called them a couple of years ago and they said the only way I could get local channels was go to the higher priced package. I told them no thanks. Called back a few days later and talked to a supervisor who told me they could add local channels for $3.00 per month so we did and they work fine!
