DirecTV Satellite box fails to turn on
Approx (2-3) days ago, I pressed the power button on the Wingard Traveler power box and it failed to power on and go to search mode. Have checked what few cable connections on the back and they seem secure. There also is a (3) amp flat fuse that plugs into the the back of the unit but haven't checked it yet. The way everything is stuffed in the overhead cabinets with the heat and bouncing when going down the road makes me wonder how it even lasts. Any thought s before I try a call with Winegard CS?

With our Trav'ler the problem was usually as simple as the power cord becoming disconnected from the cord that is directly fastened to the control box.

Thanks Joel
I've check the "multitude" of cord connections in the mess of things but will try look again. Like I mentioned in my original post, it's surprising thing works as well/long as they do in the above storage cabinets.

As I recall, the fixed cord coming out of the control box is ~2 feet long. Therefore, the connection with the incoming AC power cord is quite some distance from the box itself. The first time it happened to me it took me quite some time to figure it out because I simply didn't realize there was a plug and socket in the line.

When my Travler was brand new, the power cord failed and Winegard replaced it. Since then, the cord has come unplugged from the "brick" 2 or 3 times. I guess it is due to vibration?

Ah, sweet success. As stated in my original, I had checked several of the cord connections in the maze within the cabinets. Several members that responded indicated that was the issue they had found in the past soooo I looked again. Bingo, found a "loose" cord connection on a satellite connected device and pushed it in. Thanks guys. That's why this site is/has been outstanding in the 17 yrs that I've been a member.

I did check the (3)amp fuse on the back of the Sat box and found it to be good. The next step of rechecking power cord connectivity was done next(I believe for the third or fourth time) and that's when the problem was found. Good suggestion though; thanks.
