Dish 500 VS Dish 1000.4

I currently use a dish 1000.4 in my motorhome. It hasnt worked since last year and I think the lnb is bad from banging around in my car trailer. I really dont wish to invest in a new one considering I should be able to find one for free. Plus set up seems difficult for the 1000.4. I'd like to hear opinions about using a dish 500. The house next to mine is foreclosed and has one on it. What is required to use this dish? Wiring diagram? Thanks

I had a 500 hen went to 1000.4 about 8 years ago. I like the HD and with my Bird Dog meter it usually takes about 3-5 minutes to set up.

Manual dish setup can sometimes be frustrating. An app such as DishPointer is a huge help. I bought a 1000.4 via Craigslist for $35 with a mount included. Don't pay high dollars for a new one.

500 dish will only get limited HD channels, your only getting sats 110 & 119. There are some HD channels on 110. Easier to set up than a 1000.4, but less HD. If that doesn't matter to you then use the 500 dish.
