Dish Again?

Before with my motorhome I had a Winegard Trav'ler paired with a Hopper 3. With my future travel trailer setup I am looking at getting a portable automatic type of antenna for Dish and it will be paired up with a Wally.

1) Will the signal be HD?

2) I am assuming I can on watch or record one show at a time. Is this correct?

3) Which portable automatic antenna do y'all prefer?

Yes, the dome antennas are HD with Dish network and yes you will only be able to view or record one show at a time. For when our Trav'ler is blocked, I have had two Winegard carryout domes (the first one aged out and had to be replaced) and now have a Carryout G3. It works very well but any dome antenna will not receive as strong of a signal as a Trav'ler or RF Mogul but they do work.

I do expect a dome to not work as good as the Trav'ler, but putting one of these on a travel trailers is not an option for me. I am hoping to do a combination of Dish and streaming. I was thinking of using DishAnywhere, but I will be taking my T-Mobile internet with me. I also Dish 5G Wireless, but the upload for it may be to bad for using DishAnywhere.

This is the best carry out antenna to use with DISH . reception is almost as strong as a Trav'ler. https://winegard.com/pathway-x2/

You can add an external hard drive to the Wally which allows you to watch an OTA program while recording a satellite program, or vice versa!

What is the best for only one connection? This time around there will only be one tv. My last setup had three tv's.

The Pathway x2 is still the best option. I only have one TV in my coach.

Do yourself a favor and run a new coax for any portable dish you get - a lot of the factory wiring has splitters.

I had to do that on the fifth wheel I had which was easy, but this one may be a little tougher. I have everything I need, but this will have to pass the WF (wife factor).

That sounds like a good price. Let us know how it all works out.

I got it yesterday and it looks brand new. The person selling it said he only used it a few times. I was going to test it today, but the weather is not cooperating. It is below freezing with freezing rain and snow in the forecast.

With this will I be able to watch and record (via EHD) a different channel at the same time?

Not unless you have 2 receivers. OTA may be the exception, but not sat channels.
