You will need to register your Wally receiver with Dish Network to have it added to your account. Dish will charge you $7/month for using it.

You will have to run co-ax cable from the satellite dish to the Wally receiver. The Wally requires 120v ac power.

Just like chindog said, add it to the home account and Dish treats it like another tv for home. I bought a 1 TB external USB hard drive and turned my wally into a dvr for the motorhome. I would be leary of changing programming address until Dish totally recovers from the Ransomware attack. We went out for a week in the middle of March and called to have my locals changed and we were back home 2 days, so 9 days after I requested the change, before the locals were changed to where I had just returned from. Then it took me a week to get them changed back.
Great setup for the motorhome. Good luck.

Another choice is to move your home Hopper 3 back and forth to the RV if no one is there to watch it when you travel. That's what I do. This has the advantage of no additional monthly cost other than perhaps a one time cost, parts well under $100, to set up the RV Trav'ler system to work with a Hopper 3.
This also has the advantage of your DVR recordings travel with you. You contact Dish and update the service address for the Hopper 3 if you travel outside your local home area.
It also has the advantage of being able to record and watch a combination of up to about 8 shows at once, whereas with the Wally you can only record or watch 1 thing at a time. (maybe 2 in some situations but not always).
There are some threads that discuss what has to be done to the RV to make the Trav'ler work with the Hopper 3. If you are interested PM me or post again in this thread and I'll try to find the posts and provide the links to them.

I gave up installing a Wally in my Thor 32N because DishTV was unable or unwilling to even answer my phone calls. Got tired of waiting "in excess of 45 minutes" day after day. I understand they were seriously hacked and they had both arms tied behind their back. All of their CS folks were waiting to be called back to work! SOOOOOO i contacted Direct TV and within two days a technician showed up at the house. He made a few adjustments to the settings on my Winegart SAT Dish. Plugged in their Wally equivalent receiver and off we went. Happy camper. DISH TV remember this. "The degree of technical competence is inversely proportional to the level of management".

Love love my Winegard Trav’ler & Wally (or Hopper3) receiver.
I visit mostly tree-less areas in my RV, so no problem getting clear sat HDTV whenever I desire.
Will continue being a DISHnet customer at home & on-the-road until the service is no longer viable.

Dish Let Me Down - Gave it a chance!!!
Well I gave Dish a chance over the last month or so and got no where. I understand all the issues they have been going through but sitting on hold "in excess of 45 minutes" time after time was not my idea of waiting for customer service. When I did get to speak to a human, it was the same story that they were experiencing CS computer issues but they would be happy to issue a service ticket and get it to the right department! Some CS reps were better than others in making excuses and how they were willing to do whatever it takes to keep me happy. DIDN'T work. Now have DIRECT TV in the RV! Called their CS center and within one day I had a contractor tech at the door ready to make the install on their system. Granted, their pricing in different than DISH but at least they did what they said they were going to do! Now I have satellite TV installed and we are ready for a summer of travel.
For those still waiting for DISH to come back, you might have better luck booking a flight on SW Airlines. Things were tough but at least they respect their customers and even tried to make nice to them as a result of the massive failure they experienced.
For those iRV2 Forum folks who took the time to respond to my DISH issues, thank you. Have a Happy Easter!!!!

I have nothing but praise for Dish. I'd rather go streaming than go to DirectTV.
