Does anyone worry about starlink theft?
I am new to starlink and I really like it. The last two places I’ve been, I have not been able to put it on the telescopic pole due to trees. Instead I set it on the ground. This made me think about the chance that someone may steal the antenna. I have the router locked in an outside cabinet.

It seems that you worry.
Plenty of Satelitte dome out there and haven't read about them disappearing.

If worried, bring the antenna in for the night.
For me, it takes less time to carry it into the RV at night and throw the unplugged cord over a wheel than it does to bring in my non-auto retracting power awning.

But did the people with the satellite dishes spend $690 (delivered price) on their hardware? Serious question as I do not know the answer.

It makes no sense to steal a Starlink. You can't use it.

You and me may know that but I would bet that most thieves doesn't know that and he sees it as something that looks expensive. He will grab it bring by the pawn shop to see if he can sell if the pawn shop doesn't want it then it's not worth anything to him and it land in the nearest dumpster.
I have seen several EBikes stolen from a gated RV park in a single night so stuff does gets stolen. I have never heard of Starlink being stolen.

Yes, my carryout dome is over $400 and then the inside hardware adds up to about $200.

I bring mine in at night when I stayed at RV parks in questionable areas. I do not when staying at COEs and state parks.

99% of people don't know what it is or that its worth money. Of the 1% about half know its worthless and the other half probably already came up to ask you about it.

Most of our go to spots allow us to mount on the flagpole, so I've as yet run into a situation where I need to use the ground mount. I have mounts for both front and rear of my TT. I've modified the pole so it has a kensington lock on it - isn't really that protective as a good hard yank would probably pull it out but as it looks like a lock, it's more deterrent...I also have it airtagged (required opening up the dish)...

I may get a pole for easy mounting too.... but still a bit undecided.
On this trip so far from FL to Texas to S Carolina to N. Carolina..... with 15 stops so far. over a month and a half.... I would say that at 3 or 4 places I used the stock base on the ground more than 10 feet from the RV to get the best reception through obstructions. Another 5 or so places, I put it on the roof but moved it around a bit to get better unobstructed sky view. The rest of the time it did OK on the normal spot at the top of my rear ladder where the pole mount will eventually go.
So for me, I want a more convenient method for most of the time, but not permanent as I feel the flexibility is important for usability.
On the roof or pole I feel it is safe, on the ground I just bring it in when not around camp if I can't lock it to something.

I carry a 50' roll of 1/4" steel cable that I pad lock my Winegard carry out dome to the frame of one of my vehicles when parked under trees. Some individuals will take anything that doesn't belong to them. Several years ago I lost one of my TMS air senders off a rear dual valve stem of my motorhome in a very popular crowded in town campground. The site angled so one of the rear duals were close to the road thru the CG. Had been warned the year before that certain individuals would take them off a tow vehicle in a parking lot. No thought about a campground tho.
Only thing I've ever lost that way.

I've never had a problem or concern after over 18 months of use.
I will say that if I was in a sketchy area, I a) probably wouldn't stay in a sketchy area, and/or b) would just put the dish up on my roof.

The thieves that got caught in the campgrounds we were at had a battery power angle grinder and cutting blade and cut through a U shape solid steel Ebike lock in about 30 seconds. One camper was even caught on a security cam including the license plates on the getaway vehicle. They got eight bikes in less than an hour loaded and out of the campgrounds.
That 1/4 inch cable just keeps honest people honest and thieves come prepared.
