Downloading from poifactory.com ???

Went on the www.poifactory.com site and wanted to download a file for "low clearances" for our Magellan 3045 LMT -

Very confused and unable to do it. Does anyone have any helpful advice on how to do this?

Thanks so much for any help !

just download the file onto your harddrive. then you copy it onto your GPS under the favorites section. You need to determine which format your GPS uses. I have a Garmin and the .csv files work fine.

K-Star, thank you for the reply. I also posted this question on the poifactory site and received a reply. They said Magellan was purchased by a Chinese company a few years ago and Magellan units no longer allow information to be downloaded to the units. So I must live with what is on the unit.

As a side note I read that MSN Direct will no longer be available after Jan 1, 2012 for Garmin updates.

Disappointing news on the Magellan units. I was hoping to add the height clearance info to our Magellan unit instead of buying one of the newer RV/Trucker units for that feature. I've read such negative feedback on the RV/Truck units that I am afraid to get one and be less than satisfied with the performance.

Thoroughly confused at this point as to what to do!

I agree '4Fun'. I too am wanting to get a GPS designed with the RV in mind. However, as you mention there is so much negativity regarding these units. Seems as though the manufacturer's are so bent on getting something quickly on the market, that they are cutting corners without really testing them thoroughly.

I have the RVND 5510 from Rand McNally. I have had no problems and love all the data it provides; warnings for steep hills, sharp curves, construction, winding roads, speed zone changes, it even lets me know if my combined length would be illegal for a chosen route, bridge height and weight, etc... Easy to update through the Rand McNally software.
