Drone recommendation?

I do a lot of dry camping and travelling Canada. Went to Yukon and Alaska last summer and this year plan on going to Nova Scotia.
Looking to buy a drone so I can make sure I don't drive down dead end roads without a turnaround. Something easy to navigate and easy to return in my hand that is less than $200.
Any advice?

Holy Stone HS440 gets good reviews and several videos on YouTube. It has FPV video. I have not flown this unit. Under $100 at Amazon.

DJI owns 90% of the drone market. Nothing compares. Might be a bit more for a Mavic mini or maybe you can get a used model on ebay or something but night and day difference.

We have a Mavic Mini from DJI. Most of the time we will just use Google Earth to keep us out of Dead End and Turn Around issues.

How far away would you need to fly to get the info you need? Cheap drones won’t have the range.

To comply with FAA regs you can’t fly the drone beyond the point where you lose sight of it with the naked eye.

If merely going straight up 400 ft to get the “birds eye” view would help then probably cheap drone could do that.
