On my Sprint phone it has a key for upgrades, Don't know if it works or not cuz no downloads have ever happened.

On the Broadband card, (595U) one new download has happened simply by getting into a box and asking for it.

Thanks for the heads up; a question...how has the verizon air card worked across the country if you have experience. I have used in FL and GA...worked great...one place GA (Moultrie) broadband was not available...

Anyway, I will be using verizon broadband (National Access) while traveling across the country...pass on your experiences..., HEMI

Hemi: Have used Verizon card in most east coast states and as far west as Iowa and have only found a few places where we didn't have broadband. Tower strenght is another story, some places it's really weak but 2 miles away it's ok. Go figure.
Have had problems with e-mail service but calls to their service dept has been excellent. Just the opposite of my experience with T-Mobile,
a total disaster!!

Thanks for the tips, just removed my Verizon air-card from the router and updated it along with the cell phones. We have been using it for the past 3 months while traveling from Virginia to Texas and now back to Florida and have only had poor access in one location where we also had poor cell access. That area was Plantation row on the Mississippi river in Louisiana between N.O. and Baton Rouge.
Regards, Randy

Is this something we should do with all Verizon cell phones? Please try to explain.

I dialed the *22899 and got a voice message that said the requested update was not available without a service representative assistance. No other prompts were presented and the connection ended.

Hmmm.....I'll call Verizon customer service tomorrow.

AT+T tech support took care of ours today, so it applies to their service also.

You have to be on a Verizon tower to do a PRL update. Possibly you're connected to an extended network.

I just updated my phone and all I had to dial was *228 then enter. Then option 2 and the phone updated itself.
