My Mom (land-based) needs a free e-mail account for occasional use. She doesn't want to use Juno because all her friends say it's bad (I use Juno Platinum but what do I know). She doesn't want to do anything but send/download e-mail with no ISP charges. Is there anyone left doing this or do I get to tell her to use the Juno Free (or piggyback off my account)?

Try Googles "G Mail" its free & works great. Just about unlimited storage, they say you will never have to deleate any mail. Handles pictures & large files, ties all messages together to allow searching for all old messages from/to a friend in a string.

Gmail without a doubt!

An invitation from an exisiting Gmail user is the fasted way to get an account set up. All we need is an email address to send the invitation to.

Does she have internet access? I assume not. Free email is easy to come by, free internet service not so much.

Netzero offers ISP and email for free. On their free service you are allowed 10 hours a month of internet. The drawback is if my memory serves me you can't download to Outlook/Outlook Express. I have rotated from free, to platium, to high speed. But I have always been happy with the service.

I think I'm going to end up getting her an e-mail address and let her use my Juno to get online. I'll be lucky if I can get her to learn to chech her e-mail on a regular basis.
