Garmin 890 doesn't show pilot j or loves

I've had the Garmin 890 for over a year and yet to see the "up ahead" for gas stations ever show a pilot j, loves or T/A. It will show many others, but not these. Anybody know the reason? I have tried searching and can't find any information.

I've noticed that with my garmin 795RV. You would think that when you are using the RV profile, it would show truck stops instead of gas stations.
Later...

You can customize the Up Ahead function by following these steps

https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=okfwZK4AlL3a7tsqRPDfd9

I selected Gas Stations, then wrench in upper left, then Customize and entered "Truck Stops".

In a very brief test, it now showed local truck stops as well as one Loves.

Your question got me to thinking about this. I have an RV760, steps might be slightly different on newer units.

Well I thought about that, even added a Pilot - but then realized it was just a name, so I deleted it. We are home now so can't try out.

Just a WAG, but I suspect you could enter any of the items from a Where To submenu. For example, Truck Stops under the Plan RV Services. It would take some trial and error to see if others would work.

I downloaded the Pilot, Loves and TA apps to my phone and IPad. Wife can look them up and tell me the exit number. With the apps you get the current fuel prices also.

Thanks for the responses. Yes I can download apps, I have the pilot j already. One person on Facebook said theirs worked. I guess I will plan out my stops even for the shorter trips vs just the long ones.

You can also learn how to use custom POI"s on the Garmin. There are POI files that you can down load for Pilot/Flying J, TA/Petro, Loves etc. Load them to and use custom categories to access those files. It is also possible to set icon to display on map and give an audible alert. You just have to figure out Garmins key words. Very useful capability.

Maybe we should ask Open Roads (formerly TSD) if they would support upload of their current member discount diesel fuel stations (either the entire database or within a current position radius) as a custom Points of Interest (POI) file. That would be nice.

I just sent them an email suggesting this. Any other TSD members interested in that might also request it.
