Gps tracking devices

Hi,

I have never given much thought about security for my MH when in storage until today I have been reading a thread where a MH was stolen from a storage lot.

Issac and few others mentioned gps tracking devicea in the above mentioned thread.

Does anyone have a tracking device in their rig?

Thanks,

Look at the Automatic Pro at https://automatic.com/. Installed one about a year ago in my Sprinter based RV. It hooks up through the ODB2 port. Company is owned by SiriusXM. Does a lot more than tracking like gas mileage and check engine light codes. Nice app for smartphone. Uses cell for tracking.

I remember when I called them it would not work on a f53. I now have a workhorse, must check compatibility.

Hi Knit,

I looked at tge compatibility list and it did not show the sprinter.

Does your sprinter have a battery disconnect?

Spot GPS

I used a Spot Gen 3 for a few years when it 1st. came out on my motorcycle until I had to give up riding.

They have another device called Spot Trace which is designed to track vehicles or any equipment that is mobile. It will notify you immediately when your MH is moved, even just a few feet. I would carry my gen 3 on me in case of an accident where I could press a button if I am capable requesting help IMMEDIATELY. When I was not riding I would put it in my saddlebag and just by someone standing my bike upright it would trip the alarm and notify me.

https://www.findmespot.com/en/index.php?cid=128

It runs on batteries with an optional DC power backup. It is $99.00 and yearly service at $150.00

It can be very easily hidden and it will track them ANYWHERE in the US or Canada EVEN DEATH VALLEY as it works off Satellites, not cell phones.

Hope this helps.
