HDMI 4X4 switch fan noise

I have an HDMI 4X4 switch in my motorhome for TV source selection that seems to have a lot of fan noise. Is this common with this type of equipment?

I have the same Matrix 4X4 switcher in my coach. That unit does not have a fan. I wish it did as it gets very hot. I installed a fan cooling unit on top of it. If you are having fan noise it is not coming from the matrix unless someone added one.

I recently replaced my hdmi 4x4 matrix box from the original factory unit and also from the original supplier (pace). The updated unit now comes with installed fans. I agree, they are noisy.

Ranger Rick what unit did you replace yours with?

Replaced with the exact unit as the Winnebago original. Updated hdmi matrix is equipped with internal fans. Hope that helps.

I was told that when they were servicing my coach prior to me picking it up, they had to replace the matrix switch. So I must have the new version with the fans.

Do you turn the unit off when not in use? Or do you just keep it running all the time?
