Another UPDATE, maybe, hopefully, the last one.
It did not happen on the schedule as detailed in yesterday's email from ATT but I got my service address change! YeeHaww! They actually got it done a day ahead of schedule.
And at noon today I got a call from the ATT Midwest Executive Office following up to see if everything was going okay. We actually had an intelligent conversation about what had happened to me (the answer was they were having "difficulties" with the new system) and what the future of getting a service address change looked like. That answer was encouraging but only because he admitted that there was a problem and that they were working on it so that people in RV's could have a better experience changing service addresses. He even asked informed questions such as how frequently did service address changes happen. He seemed to have an a-ha moment when I told him that we go to a new place for 3 to 5 months at a time but that we may need a service address change every night for a week as we travel from our old location to our new location.
I hope I'm not setting myself up for a big letdown but for now I am optimistic something good is going to come out of all this.

Been watching this closely as I have Direct TV antenna but not out enough to warrant the cost to use it. Only reason we went with DVT was that we have cell phones with AT&T. Hope they get their act together before I decide to use it.
Isn't dealing with these faceless companies exciting? Reminds me of my dealings with Frontier. Finally got the name of the regional VP via a tech writer from the then daily fish wrapper. A letter of complaint with little threat that I would be contacting the local regulatory agency in a few days if not resolved. Amazing how fast they can move if inspired.

Being this is AT&T run and they love to charge fees that they will start charging us to change service addresses.

I was happy enough with DTV from 1999 until we went full-time in 2016, but after doing our research, going to Dish was a no-brainer. Yes, I miss NFL Sunday, but I would not go back with these new transition issues DTV is having. Customer service counts more.

Interesting read. I use their "CHAT" window. It's easier and you get a 'receipt' of your conversation. We just upgraded our roof antenna and working with DirecTV was a breeze. Only issue was they sent the installer to California instead of Arizona. He didn't know what to say when he called to say he couldn't find us. We have ATT and DirecTV but they're on different accounts.

I recent went thru the Directv RV service change run-around. Got every thing from "I can do that" to "you need to contact Winegard". Our equipment is a SWM mounted on a household mount. Eventually figured out that the new service address (inside a government facility) was not being accepted by the Directv computers. Switched to a nearby outside address that was not a bussiness but could be found on the internet by normal searching. Change then went thru. Worth a try if having trouble.

Did the ATT exec give you a number to use to request the change?

That is the same guy that used to work at Dish that told me 3 years ago the system to change service address was going to be availablee soon on the account page.

Doing some checking now but one of my TV's or DTV receivers in the stick house is acting up. Sound keeps cutting out. Turnimg the TV and receiver off restores it.
The rrceiver is a SD only so if it's the receiver I'll have to have them ship another (probably a rebuilt one now).
On edit: turned on one of the other TV's and receiver and it's doing the same thing, so may be weather related but it's definately outside my control.

Be advised that DirecTV has sent letters to those customers with SD receivers that they will have to replace their equipment starting 4/16/2018 for their planned upgrade to HD only transmission some time in 2019. They will probably not replace SD receivers with SD receivers.

WE got home from winter in the RGV a few weeks ago, it had taken 3 phone calls and 24 hrs to change our service address. Been making the same change for three years. And my bill had gone up to $150 a month. Enough!
We have changed to Dish in the sticks and bricks and are very pleased. Better programming, better picture quality, 16 recording heads, many, many better features. Love the commercial skip feature. Saving was $50 a month for more channels. Checked out the Wineguard Traveler Direct T RV conversion for the rig today. Kit $239.
I took great pleasure calling and telling ATT I was canceling my satellite service after 10 years! Oh and they offered me a $40 a month price reduction for 6 months to stay. They wanted their receiver, remotes back...their dish and mount are laying in the back yard. Any one want it?

It sounds like the best thing that has ever happened to Dish is AT&T.

Just called DirecTV to change our service address. One minute on hold 3 minutes talking to service rep and it was changed and operating. This is the way it has been the last 3 times I have done this. In two and a half years full timing I have only had a issue once. I was in Bowling Green, KT and the rep I talked to did not know they did not have any available locals in that market.
