Help with failed MotoSat!
Those of you that have had 'MotoSat Executive 3' fail, what did you do? Seems like a newer nomad controller for MotoSat is available but needs upgrades every so often. The other option, is the Winegard SK3005 complete system for $1600 plus. We don't pay for the Direct TV HD programming. But things change fast enough that another year or two and either of these systems can be obselete.
Any and all comments appreciated!

Beagle, I don't know. You are right, the Nomad does require updating every once and a while. I know, I have one. I actually have both the HD MotoSat and a KVH R-6. A little overkill but, whatever. The issue on what will be sold next year or the year after really is little concern to me. What we buy new today is always really obsolete.
We only have so many years in good health, we have to live for today.
I have heard good things in regards to Winegards SlimeLine. It is HD, but you may wish to move to that in the near future anyway.
Hope my rambling made sense.

new Moto Sat works well
Just replaced my old dome with new MotoSat sat dish. Bought it over the winnguard because the MotoSat looks to be better built. And we have a Moto Sat F1 for internet. The new motor sat TV dish works quite well. We just got back from a month trip and when there was no tree in the way worked flawlessley.

Today I contacted RV Satellite Systems | Mobile TV Satellites | Motosat, TracStar, Kingdome, KVH | Mobile HD TV
Dale Morris took my call and did the trouble shooting over the phone.
Result, the MotoSat Executive 3 is now up and running.
After much internet research I had all but given up on our old MotoSat system.
Thank you Dale! Nice to know there is people out there that can work with these older systems.

Dale Morris is technician full timer who knows MotoSat issues. I was ready to spend the 1600 big ones on a Winegard Traveler when I found his cell #.
It took all of 15 minutes and it was working like a champ. cost $45.

Many companies have Cuss-Some-More non-support departments.
Motosat has a very good Customer Support department
The phone number is in your owner's manual or Welcome to-MotoSAT here

I tried customer support, advised that controller would have to be upgraded to newer model.
Dale Morris, the gentleman mentioned in my previous post worked with the older controller and now it works fine. Time will tell.
