Hi from Oregon , need Sat. Info

Looking for info about buying a automatic satellite dish (like tailgater) that will work with a Dish 512 DVR.

Only one I have ever seen used the guy had chained to a tree so it would not grow legs. Seems to me a manual dish is a lot less expensive and setup is not a big deal.

Welcome to IRV2. I'll move this to our technology section.

The Tailgater, Carryout or any domed antenna will not work with a DVR. You need a mulit-LNB antenna such as a Dish 500, or 1000, attached to a portable mount (Tripod). We travel half of the year, and I don't take the time to set-up our DVR(722), portable 1000 antenna, for stops of less than 4 days. We have a single LNB roof mounted antenna which works well with the 211K receiver.

Really isn't any "One size fits all" when it comes to satellite systems. We are addicted to TV, so we go out of our way to insure reception.
