How to get past "Connect to Internet" page for WIFI Connection
We just left a campground, and the WIFI was fine for our handheld devices. This was "unencrypted" wifi, but when you first tried to access the internet, you would get a page owned by the campground which had a button that you needed to click to "Proceed to the Internet". This was some kind of authorization page. Once you did this, you did not see the page again (your device was now authorized). We never had a Password.
My question is regarding our web based TV. When trying to use the browser in the Panasonic TV, it gave the message "No internet Connection". I think this is because the TV was testing the internet connection, but there was no way to get past the authorization page because it was not displayed.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
Thanks,
Dan

Suspect if you ran everything through a router and connected once with your hand held device then the tv would work too. Their system would think it was connected to the same device no matter which one you were using. I use this system when on pay networks so that I only pay for it once no matter how many devices I hook up.

Well.. First DO NOT DO WEB BASED TV on the park router.. Glad to see their system blocked it.
I have one park where I have to sign in with a password.. I re-route and frankly forget if I need to sign in each compter or just the re-router.. I do have hardware here that can not enter passwords and it works..

Yup...If I want a movie/music, I stream it through 3g/4g data plan on my phone.
It is that sometimes I am in front of the V, and want to check e-mail or google something. Saves me from hunting down my phone....I know I had it twenty minutes ago...... .
I will try bringing a router along next time to try it out.

We don't need to reopen the thread on streaming, but the OP didn't ask for opinions as to whether or not streaming was appropriate. He asked how to get his TV past the "splash screen" and he's already been told that he should use a router.
This debate about the morality of streaming video is getting old very quickly. Regardless of what people here exhort others to do, there is no doubt but that people are streaming video on RV park wifi and will continue to do so unless parks take active steps to block them. So let's get past morality and address the situation that actually exists.

The down and dirty:
When using a router the router actually logs onto the park network and receives an IP address from the park network. When you log in you log in to the router and it assigns you its own IP addresses. As far as the park network is concerned only one machine has logged on no matter how many you log onto your own router.
You do need enough expertise to be able to set up the router and change the settings to log on to each network as you change parks. Sometimes not that easy depending on park network security etc.

Just get a router with "WiFi as WAN" capability. Then just log in as administrator to the router and make the WiFi connection.

This is not a commercial post, but, for example, if you used a WiFiRanger router with WiFi as WAN capability, the router would attempt to connect to the park's wifi and would identify it as a "Filtered Connection" which is what it calls wifi's that have "splash screens" which are the types of pages you are referring to. The router then provides a link on its on-screen control panel which takes the user to the splash screen with which you can complete the login procedure. Once the router is connected to the wifi all devices connected to the router are automatically also connected.

Thanks docj...
PERFECT.....this is why I ask questions on this site. There is usually several people that have "been there, done that".
I love knowing these kinds of details, my overall plan is to use a wireless router and stream video via 4G (lucky to have unlimited data plan) to my Google Chrome cast. So all of the data stays on my private network.
Thanks again for the education.

As you develop your system concept, you might want to consider a Roku instead of or in parallel with a Chromecast. The Roku operates independently of any of your computers and we have been quite pleased with its performance. We are considering supplementing it with a Chromecast for certain specific instances where it is necessary to have a video stream go through a computer. These could include things such as IP address spoofing using Hola which cannot be performed with a Roku.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I would need to enable my phone as a hotspot (Verizon charges for this) in order to use Roku. Unless I allowed the Roku to use the Parks WiFi (which I don't want to do).

Dan:
You said that your 4G had an unlimited data plan. Since you obviously aren't using your phone I assume it's a USB modem that you're currently using with your computer. If that's the case, you can plug the modem directly into a WiFiRanger Go2. The WFR will then share the modem's internet access with all the devices on the network, including a Roku if you have one. No need for the Chromecast at all.
If I've misunderstood your setup please correct me.
Joel

Hi Joel,
Currently I do not have any personal network set up for the motorhome.
My question started because I could not get the web browser on the TV to connect. But after reading many of the replies, it sounds like I need to do something other than rely on the RV park WIFI for video. I am just in the planning stages at the moment.
I did look up WIFIRanger, and it is a pretty expensive item ($380).
So my current thought is what I recently posted, make the 4G phone a hotspot. Not sure if I need a local wireless router to get Chromecast to work (I do nave a Roku box). We only use the RV about once per month , so I don't want too big of an investment.
You info has been very helpful.
Dan
