How to hook up a new dish system to a new travel trailer??

So I just purchased a new travel trailer open range ut2410rl and a new playmaker dish system. Trying to hook it up through the wiring in the trailer. Hooked it up at the satellite coaxial on the trailer then I go inside and the place where the receiver hooks up is above the kitchen cabinets where I see two coaxial jacks jumped together with one wire. How do I get the receiver hooked into that set up?? Any help please! Bill

That splitter probably splits the input coax to two output TV locations (for cable TV). Try running the single input coax to the back of the Dish receiver.

First off, Welcome to IRV2!
If that coax from the outside is labeled Cable, then you can't use it with a satellite without modification. There is a splitter/power supply in the line for OTA and it will not allow a satellite signal to pass. You will have to bypass it or run a separate coax as suggested.

So on the outside of the trailer it has a coaxial hookup for satellite and one for cable. I plugged it into the satellite coaxial. The tech who went through the trailer with me told me the jumper is used for when you are hooked up to cable. And in that spot where the jumper is that is where the receiver for the dish goes. Behind the TV there is a dual coaxial one labeled satellite and one labeled cable. Still confused about this... Can you all tell?

Find the color of the sat cable coming in.......pull the plate with the jumper.....the same color coming in from outside is the one that will feed the receiver......from receiver out to tv, either with coax or hdmi.....and while your at it, be wise to check tightness of connectors....

Hello Bob, thanks for the info. I will pull that plate. So the other side of that jumper will go from the out on the receiver? Also, I don't have a coaxial out on my receiver.. any suggestions?

Thanks,. Bill

You TV should have a HDMI input. Use a HDMI cable from the Dish receiver to the TV

We have had a number of neighbors with the sat and cable connections mislabled on their trailers. Just try the other one. You can als set up with a direct run into the receiver from the antenna.

The use HDMI for the receiver to the TV. Set the TV source to the HDMI input you are using.

From the jumper wire wall plate, after finding the right cable connection for sat, disconnect the jumper from the sat coax connector, run a coax from the sat connector to the in on receiver, then the out to tv will either be another coax cable or an hdmi port.....set the tv input to hdmi if that's what you're using, or, to air if using coax....

I just looked at the receiver and where the sat comes in there is no sat out that is coaxial. I would want to go hdmi to my TV but it is half way across the trailer. Makes no sense!!

Got to be creative......I've run coax everywhere in this one, all hidden, so it can be done......move the receiver closer to tv....build a shelf.......and make sure the hdmi port on tv you use, hdmi 1 or 2, is the tv input you select...
