Internet connectivity

We are new (but old) rvers planning to drive south and west from our home in NC starting in December in our C class Travelmaster.

What is the best way to maintain internet connectivity as we travel? Do we just connect to the service at different campsites, or do we have a system set up in our camper?

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!! Some campgrounds have good WIFI some have none. Cell phone signals are spotty, again sometimes good sometimes nonexistent.
Some businesses have WIFI and you can stop and use them. I have a cell phone booster that helps.

If depends on the size of your need, and the depths of you pockets. On my current trip, I have not found any usable park WiFi. So, I'm glad I have a dual SIM card cell router for my internet.

What do do need to do on the /net? Email and occasional surfing is one thing. 2 people streaming different movies at the same time is another.

Take a look at this site - It can give you a good review of what is out there and what to think about.

They are supported by the mobile internet community - so they are unbiased

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/

Like others will state - you need to define your requirements / budget first.

We still work while on the road - so we have data plans on the big 3 cell providers. I do not count on any campground WIFI if you have to work or stream. Have not had one cell provided that is best in every locations.

The above is good advice. Historically AT&T & Verizon have provided most reliable coverage nationwide. T-Mobile is up and coming with very competitive offerings.
If you are going with a cellular modem, take the time to view the 5G article on the above referenced web site. My take away from his advice was to hold off purchasing a 5G cellular modem for a variety of reasons.

You didn't say how long you would be on the road or how much your budget is - so here is a no cost option

T-Mobile Test Drive 30 day 30 gig data plan - costs $0
https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/free-trial

As for your data usage - other here would be better at giving you what they use based on what you are doing online.

This list all the plans that are currently available
