Is DISH going into the tank?

Their webservices is down and has been for several days now. We cannot even sign on to the APP for local channel updates. Given all of this outage started coincident with earnings reports, one has to wonder how things will shake out.
Since we are not on the road we cannot check access to various things outside the scope of local channels.
So what's up "out there"?

Don't think so, they are still transmitting as usual. It's their internal computer connections that are causing the problems.

I dunno about this outage. It's quite long. Having seen what happened at Target and Home Depot and their resolutions I have to wonder about the Dish platform.

They may have beaten expectations but I keep falling back on "Coincidence I think not" cliche given they are bleeding subscriptions. Now they are going to be unable to process income and have promised no outages due to payment difficulties.

Was the balloon in line with the Eastern or Western arc LOL?

Still down. TVguide will not load local channels. I'm glad the last time I changed local channels I picked Orlando. At least there is good coverage for them in Florida.

Still down. Unreal that a large network provider would be offline as long as they are. This does not bode well.

Speaking of balloons, I turned to look at the tv when it was mentioned an F35 shooting at one of the ballons missed with the first missile. For one they're $80,000 missiles and two, a balloon, really?

We might have to give up waiting for Dish Anywhere to work again and find an alternate.

Their auto-pay service was able to grab my monthly payment today…however - my packages normally cost $142/mo. Today the took $147…the extra $5 happens when we are on the road, but we have been at the S&B since mid-December. I might try to call them and get it fixed and refunded. They will charge you that $5 extra forever if you turn on the mobile service and forget to call them to turn it off when you get back home. Maybe the phone line to customer service in India still works, but I don’t have high hopes.

I have been intently watching all the Starlink threads here. We live in the sticks so that wireless or satellite is our only option (besides antenna). My internet + Dish runs $200/ month plus we have numerous subscription services that I loose track of unfortunately. I like what I read here from others using Starlink + YouTube TV.

News reports are that it is a ransomware attack. I forget where I read it, but the speculation was some group out of Russia is the culprit. Since it has been so long, I wonder if Dish will recover from this.
