Is this just our RV? No sound on TV while running Generator while driving?

Typically we do not watch TV while driving. However when the grandchildren are with us they like to watch movies . When running the generator it locks out the sound but the we have sound if we run the inventor. Is this just our model or is this the norm?

If the audio is within the TV, I would be stumped about how it could be blocked while on generator? This would therefore also prevent TV audio while dry camping (no shore power) with the generator.

If the TV audio is on a "sound bar" it could have a different source of power (off while driving power circuit - from inverter?)

OEM inverters in Damon RV's had a transfer switch, to automatically allow generator or shore power through the inverter circuits (again if there is a separate audio device) and maybe the transfer switch is malfunctioning (?).

Since the audio operates on inverter power, is there a reason that the inverter cannot be on while on generator power?

Best luck

Are your tv power source and sound power source the same. If not and the sound source is plugged into the "protected while driving" outlet, that could be the problem.

Agree, the audio likely is being provided by a device external to the TV and is powered differently than that of the TV. Find and change the power sourcing or disable/disconnect the external audio device from the TV so as use the internal TV audio.

Both the RVs we owned had a power interrupt relay that disabled power to the TV if the vehicle was moving. The driver being able watch TV while driving is illegal.
