King Dome Replacement
Hello, I have a King Dome model 9702-LP and am thinking about replacing it with the Winegard Traveler dish for HD channels for Direct TV. I don't want to get into a Dish vs Direct TV discussion. I have Direct TV now at home and do not want to change. I am wondering if anyone has removed their King Dome and installed the Winegard Traveler? If so can the wiring be used to control the Winegard or will new wire have to be installed? Gathering info now just thinking about it. I am hoping the price for the Traveler Dish comes down?
Thanks

You can re-use one of the coax cables if it is in good condition, you only need one. But you will have to pull a new control cable from the Trav'ler down into the coach. It's a simple installation, I've done three myself.

When they replaced my KingDome with the Dish Travler, the existing coax was used to pull in a new coax and control line.

Thought so!
How much trouble was it to get the new wiring down through the coach? I have a 2008 Alpine.
Thanks

Have any of you replaced a Kingdome KD3000 (which is very noisy when in in-motion mode) with a different in-motion system that is quieter?

I did my own Trav'ler install. I did remove a King Dome. I only had to run the control wire and utilized the coax that was in place.

Hello and thanks for the info. I have not replaced it yet, still thinking about it.! I am using my portable unit and set up. I am just wondering how much trouble it was to run the new control cable? Do you have any tips and was it difficult to get the cable down through the ceiling?
Thanks
