Latency problem

I'm getting great upload and download speeds but the latency is slowing everything down to a crawl. I just checked it and got 3411ms!

I don't know what device you are using to connect to the internet, but when that sort of thing happens I have found that the best thing to do is power off your device, wait a minute or two, and then reconnect.

Thanks Joel! I'm using the MR1100 on the AT&T original Connected Car plan. I'll try resetting it. I think I may have already done that when the problem started about a week ago, but not sure.

Well, I just reset the MR1100 and WOW! The latency is down in the 40's! Maybe I just thought I had reset it. I know I have restarted the computer several times, but I guess I didn't do the MR1100!

When I started it again, it said the battery was fully charged and told me to unplug power. Should I be doing that? I just replaced the battery because the old one was swelled up. Maybe I overcharged it?

Thanks for your help!

There are a number of hotspot models that won't operate without a battery but eventually will "fry" their batteries if they are left on all the time. Batteries are easily obtainable on Amazon and I just treat their replacement as an ~annual expense.

Do not leave the MR1100 on the charger all the time. Run it just on the battery until the battery level is down to below 10% charge. Mine will last just about 18 hours on a full charge. I plug in the charger at night and turn the MR1100 off overnight to recharge then the next day turn it on and unplug the charger. My battery is the original and is over 5 years old and still last over 18 hours.

Thanks for the info! I'm gonna leave it unplugged and keep checking on the battery to see how long it will last. Hopefully, I will be able to determine a duty cycle for charging.

I have a Inseego 8800L that won't run without the battery. When I was using it as my full time data source I plugged it into a simple rotary timer set at 6 hour on/off cycles. Way cheaper than just replacing batteries and much safer as well as better for the equipment. You can get fancy with digital ones for under $20.
