Malwarebytes message keeps popping up
I use malwarebytes free occasionally and must have hit an Update button recently.
I keep getting a popup that says "To finish installing a recent update, your computer needs to be restarted". Then two choices, " Remind later -15, 30 minutes or 1 hr, 1 day"". Or "Restart Computer".
I have done a restart for other reasons probably 1/2 dozen times in last week or two but I still get this popup message every time I change web pages. Easily deleted but pops back later, getting a little frustrating. Just not comfortable hitting the Restart button here and letting the popup do the restart.

I think I'd uninstall Malware Bytes, run your system for a day or two to make sure the problem is gone and them do a fresh install of Malwarebytes.
What operating system are you using?

Uninstall Malwarebytes. That will stop it.

If uninstalling doesn't take care of it do a system restore to the last restore point.

Do you know how to uninstall a program? If not I'll guide you.

Think there will be no support for older windows versions, go to windows 10. I installed Windows 10 on a T61 that was from 2008.

I had enough trouble going from Vista to Windows 7 I have just been scared spitless in trying out another system. If it ain't broken I've tried not to be fixing it, but I guess my Windows 7 is broken.

I thought I did but after doing so I'm still getting that notice to restart computer in order to finish updating. May have to hollar at you to do another uninstall.
Handled uninstalls just fine and did it several times successfully on my Vista OS but still things on Windows 7 I must not have achieved.

Malwarebytes is one of the best I would have no problem updating or restarting from the Malwarebytes prompt

Not sure what to do now other than just keep "X"ing it every time it pops up.

I would backup all your programs and data and do a fresh install of windows 10 (not an upgrade). Going from Vista to Win7 to now is a long time. Time to feel a new computer.
Before doing that, check that there are software drivers for the laptop's hardware.
If you are running win7, then there are likely drivers for 10.
This is going to take quite a few hours but sounds like sorely needed.
And you don't need to add any "malware bytes" or other. Windows has Defender built in and will take care of itself with no added spam software added. Adding this junk just creates more problems then they solve.
Good PC skills are still required - ie: watch what sites you go to and don't click on any links / emails you don't recognize as being "official".
