Missing Entertainment System Components

When I bought my 2005 Monaco Diplomat the entertainment system components located in the compartment overhead in front of the driver were gone. I have been using a soundbar but would like to take advantage of the original installed speaker system. Should I keep the soundbar or is there a way to use the original system?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Most likely to use the existing overhead speakers you would need to take the output from your TV, route it to a home theatre 5.1 channel amplifier (or receiver) which would connect to the speakers. You'd have to determine which speaker was on which set of wires in whatever cabinet the speakers wires terminate in.

Assuming you have upgraded that 2005 TV you most likely will need to get the output from the TV to an external device from the Optical Audio output. So you would need a 5.1 channel system that would except that.

You would also want to know if you switch your TVs audio out to optical if also cuts out the TV speakers. Some do, some give and option for both. It depends on the TV model.

Any 5.1 channel system would work. Unless you just get a stand alone receiver you may have to get a complete 5.1 home theatre system and just not use the speakers that come with it.

Tony Tiger-

Here is a diagram of the AV system. It should apply to your coach as it came from the factory.

I took this page from a set of wiring diagrams for a 2006 Diplomat. If you send me a private message that includes your e-mail address, I'll send the diagrams to you. Don't "publish" your e-mail address in public here, or the spammers will get it. Instructions on sending a private message are here.

Also, you should add a "signature" to your profile. It contains whatever info you want; most people put info about their coach there, so they don't have to type it into each message. Instructions for adding a signature are here.
