I would try to plug it in, let it charge perhaps test it for function once every couple of months. I bought my 815S did initial testing and kept it turned off for several months before my Mobley went flaky, at which point in time the battery charge was down to about 35%

WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SPEED? I usually ran about 10 Mbps on the Mobley, and after getting the 815S in operation it tested 14.5 Mbps! Suddenly yesterday and today I'm getting less than 2 Mbps!

I am reading with interest the speed improvements with the Netgear 815S. I did not see if anyone has hooked the 815s up to a wi-fi router. Does it have a mini USB port for doing so? I use my current mobley connected to a router to power all smart TVs and DTV box in the mohome.

That has happened to me when I'm over the data cap. I think it's 20gb.

I'm fairly certain that I read the mini-USB port is a dual function for battery charging and for connected to an external router. There are settings for it also in the Netgear app.

I moved my SIM from the Mobley to a Pepwave MAX BR1 cellular modem (hooked via Ethernet to my Synology router/wifi). I called AT&T to get the PUK codes to unlock it but had to get the Dekart SIM manager to actually use the codes. Once unlocked it has been fine in the Pepwave. The Mobley with their last software update generates a random PIN so you have to be able to unlock it if you move it elsewhere. It isn't clear if or when AT&T might enforce using it in a Mobley or other "approved" car connect device but so far no issues. I get better speeds on the Pepwave and it does LTE aggregation so has a better chance of keeping the speeds up. My biggest speed issue is still congestion on over loaded towers.

I've read where some of you changed to a different MiFi device using the same Mobley SIM card?
Right now I'm using my phone as a hotspot but that will get really expensive quickly!
Thanks for your advice!

Suggest you get a Netgear Nighthawk (ATT model) available on Best Buy website as this is top of the line. However before you move the SIM card you need to get the PUK codes. Go to rvmobileinternet.com to find out all about this.

Air card ?
Hello
I am a little confused, which is easy to do.
When I go on ebay I see some adds say Netgear Unite Explorer Aircard 815S and others just say Netgear Unit Explorer 815S Hotspot.
Are these the same or two different ones ? I haven't heard anyone on the forums say Aircard before.
TIA

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I bought a Netgear 815S and got the PUK codes to move the card from the Mobley!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I would do a reboot of the system and then check it. How many bars do you have?
You may want to play around with changing the channel to a different one.
