MotoSat Television Controller Firmware Updates

I have heard via word of mouth that MotoSat no longer supplies "AutoLoader" modules to accomplish Nomad Controller Firmware up-dates for the cost of postage. Heard 2 different stories, one that the "AutoLoader" modules are not longer being supplied, the second that there is now a $25 charge for the autoloader. Website states that firmware up-dates need to be done utilizing a PC and special cable, they then can be downloaded via the internet. I have also heard of another alternative method of up-dating using your PC and an SD card. I am confused because web-site doesn't tell you much.

Looking for feedback on new policy, procedures and costs from anyone that has recently up-dated firmware under MotoSat's new policies. Also of feedback from anyone that has used PC to up-date firmware. Looking for most cost effective way to accomplish these up-dates over time.

Thanks in advance of your responses.

Spike

Nomad & Nomad 2 Software Update
This procedure outlines how to update the Nomad series controller via your computer. A few key things to note are:
*An automatic software upgrade module is available through MotoSAT if a computer isn’t available. This module attaches directly to the back of the Nomad series controller enabling it to load the new software. Contact MotoSAT’s Tech Support for more information.*
Necessary items you will need for the upgrade via your computer:
• An available serial port on your computer
• A special 9-15 pin serial cable provided only through MotoSAT
For Any further questions, please contact MotoSAT’s Tech Support team at:
support@motosat.com
We use the serial cable

I talked to technical support and there is a SD programmer available from them. I believe it is $69 for the programmer and $79 for the programmer with a SD card. You can provide your own SD card if you want. The number to order it is 1-800-247-7486.
