I was looking for a way to directly connect my MP3 player into the radio on our 2002 Journey with the factory radio installed. What I found was I can't connect directly to the radio, but I can connect directly to the surround sound system.

I purchase a cable that plugs into the head phone jack on the MP3 player and has RCA jacks on the other end, which plug directly into the surround sound system.

The MP3 player's volume control, control the volume.

If you're looking for a way to directly connect an MP3 player to your motorhome's sound system like I was, you might want to see if this would work for you.

My coach does not have a surround sound option or anything else that would let me play my TV through the coaches stereo system. I had tried multiple systems that claim you could send a signal to the radio but the interference was always very bad. I found a kit at Circuit City that allows you to use the TV headphone output (stereo) and plug that into the antenna input in the back of the radio. There is an on-off switch which allows you to choose the radio antenna for radio or choose the external input. I now have full stereo from the TV throughout the all the coaches stereo speakers!
How did we ever get by with less! When we are not watching TV, Janet can plug her iPod into the same jack and we have music throughout instead. Sweet!
