I am also looking for a good deal on the MR1100. I wish there was a way to know if my Netgear Unite Explore is dying or if AT&T is pulling stunts where I have to reboot it twice a day.

Is that the 815S? That's what mine is doing!

My 815S did this and then my next 815S did this so I switched to a Netgear LB1120 modem and a TP-Link AC 1750 router. I get much better wifi range using a separate router, easily bringing the outside lighting on our barn onto my network so I can control it from the house. The Mobley card dropped right in with no issues, I've had this setup for over a year now and the total cost was half that of the Nighthawk cell hotspot. I throw both the modem and router in an overhead cabinet with a power outlet when we hit the road.

Mine loses internet connection several times a day, but most of the time it comes back on in a minute or so. Sometimes I have to restart the 815S. I was hoping to find something to replace it, but it's not worth spending $300.

The solution I mentioned above is only $150, but maybe still too high.

What speeds to you get? This could work for me being I have a spare router just sitting around.

Do you leave it plugged in all the time and will the battery swell up making it unusable?

I wouldn't mind investing that much if it would solve the problem, but I use it at home and in the motorhome. I would rather not have to switch two devices if I can avoid it.

I currently have my 815S paired with a Netgear AC750 Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Range Extender EX6100. This gives me an hard wired option plus it extends the signal. I am curious is the LB1120 will connect to this. I also am using the 815S at my home and my RV when traveling.

From what I have read the LB1120 will not work without a router. This is OK for 95% of the time, but the other 5% is when I need a hotspot for my tablet while traveling in my car for the GPS to work.

I've tried most of the units mentioned here and this is my favorite from Amazon. Every sim card I've tried in it has worked for me, but I always put in my disclaimer that it may or may not work for you.

My solution using the 1120 and a router works fine in my home where it is on 16 hours a day, snd in my RV where I put them in a cabinet that has an 110V outlet to plug them into. The 1120 does not have a battery and this would not be a solution for a car where an occasional hotspot is needed. For occasional hotspots we just use our phone hotspot. I still have my Mobley but have not had SIM card in it for a few years since I moved the SIM to an 815s and now the 1120

I found a new Netgear MR1100 on Ebay for $240 and I bought it.
