My kids bought me a GPS unit for Christmas - one of the last techie toys they say I don't already have. I hadn't heard of this unit before, it's from LG, the LG LN735. It has a standard 3.5" screen, pre-loaded with maps of Canada and the U.S., millions of POI's including campgrounds and RV parks plus the usual 'voice' routing instructions and 2D/3D mapping etc., etc.

It is very similar in capabilities to the Garmin Nuvi 350 and the LN735 sells for around $200 which is about a $100 less than what I've seen the Garmin sold for. The maps are from Navteq and the chipset is the SiRFstarIII - the exact same configuration as the Garmin 350.

I've used it around town here and am very impressed with it's performance.

Anyone else had experience with this, or other, LG GPS units?

Congratulation Rick! Now you may use it to accurately arrive at Perrin, TX for the 08 annual irv2.com national rally. Hope to see you there.

Rick
I have a LG 740, works great. Had it a few months and no problems.

We had a Garmin Nuvie 7 something model. We now have a TomTom Go 720, its a better unit all the way around.
