Omnidirectional Antenna

Without the analog TV signal to identify the direction the signal is coming from while rotating the crank-up antenna, it is difficult locating digital TV signal. Does anyone have experience with an omnidirectional antenna or are there gadgets on the market that will help locate the digital TV signal.

Hi Jack,
Is your antenna signal booster on? There is a gadget one can buy to enhance the DTV reception. Go to http://www.rvupgradestore.com/index....OD&ProdID=3000 and read about the addition to the antenna. It is an easy install.

Lastly, one must let the converter do an auto tune at every new stop. This is a PITA but its the only away to make changing channels bearable. As soon as you raise the antenna, let the converter complete an auto tune.

Since installing my DTV converters, I haven't rotated the antenna. I just crank it up and it seems to receive what ever local channels are available.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the reply. I do have the antenna signal booster on and I do a channel update each time we set up. I have the most problems when we are in a rural area and I need to know the general direction of the boradcast antenna so I can tune into the strongest signal. In urban areas I do the same as you do, just crank up the batwing and auto channel search. I though that maybe if the omnidirectional anetnna was powerful enough to capture digital signals, it would be worth the investment. I will checkout the gadget the RV Grade Store has to enhance DTV reception. Thanks again.

Jack
