Got on Chat to ask what was happening. After waiting 3/4 hour until I was #2 it suddenly showed reconnecting then closed to lack of user activity. Did I just get hung up on????

I got through and found out that there was a third party involved in the setup and that, due to corona they have closed. They cannot unlock my hotspot. I will either need to use that third party software or buy a new, unlocked hotspot for either $250 or $300 less a $100 credit. When it is all over I will still have T-mobil which is not worth the extra $20/month.

I will have to do it unless I can find another outfit with unlimited speeds and good coverage. Anybody know of one?

Hoping to avoid the hassle of changing O bought the DC unlocker. I specified the hotspot model and apis 10 euros. I downloaded the program and the Nighthawk is not listed. There are no instructions. I have idea what to do. Does anyone know how this works?

I just went over to mobilemusthaves.com and it's listed as for sale for $3595... Huh?

Today, my T-Mobile sim showed up, with, of course, NO unlock code.

I spent another 80 minutes in line to chat with OTR Mobile and got:

"We do not have unlock codes just yet :( there has been a virus outbreak in the office our 3rd party used and it was forced to close down. We sent all of our IMEIs over to another company, but it is very small. They've been sending 75-110 unlock codes every day...we suggest using these websites: "
dc-unlocker.com
cellcorner.com
https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/unlockstep1

The ATT site, of course, does not work.

According to the person I chatted with, you can have your device unlocked at one of the other sites and OTR Mobile will reimburse the cost ($12). She said people have been successful at dc-unlocker.
I was reluctant when I looked at it 'cause the site looked sketchy, but who knows WHEN OTR Mobile will get unlock codes.

When I asked HOW LONG they think it'll take to get codes I was told "My manager said there is no timeline because they have not met any timeframe we have given them.."

Kahoona, I found this online... See if it helps. And let us know 'cause it looks like I'm going to have to do the same thing.

Thanks. It helped to get the unlock process to work. Thanks. You have to remove the ATT sim first. Then I did a reset with the button in the inside back of the Nighthawk. Then install the new sim. I have tried variations of this and the device is still locked to ATT. Looks like I have to spend the morning getting into the chat again.
Update. I wanted to try the unlocker again but DC Unlocker wanted another $11 it try again.

OK. I am on with T-Mobil. Here is what I learned.

DC unlocker did unlock it. The ATT programming just pulled a Freddy Kruger and resisted removal. The 2nd and third techs said I would need a static IP then did not do it. This one said maybe not.It required 2 more resets while empty then putting in the sim. In my case the wifi address and passwords remained the same so it still says ATT when I connect but after connecting it will say T-Mobil. For now the Nighthawk will work and once the new T-Mobil system is in place I can get a Velocity 2 or another hotspot.

I finally got an intelligent tech.

They are more in the middle of price for the resellers. The range of pricing runs from about 85-200 depending on service, rvmobileinternet is a good source of info on all of the resellers. If you look at third party resellers of AT&T they will give all the links to the providers and you can check them out for yourself.

Unlimited with mobilemusthave.com (messed up before it is not plural) for AT&T is 99.00 the first month and 120.00 a month thereafter.

Their claim is yes. there are no soft caps as with some others and they are not tablet plans being used in hotspots. My understanding is these plans ore being used as intended and are less likely to be terminated. There is always a chance the provider can cancel.

If you have a AT&T hotspot (Netgear Nighthawk) it does not need to be unlocked to use another AT&T service provider, you just need a new unactivated sim.

A new sim and first month of service with AT&T is 99.00 and 120.00 a month thereafter. Just select the AT&T truly unlimited plan and they will take it from there.

My OTR T-Mobile sim in a Netgear LB1120 has been giving me between 15 to 51 mb download speeds depending on the time of day, which is just a little slower that the MR1100 & OTR ATT sim.
Hello. How long did it take for OTR to send you an unlock code to use the t-mobile sim? I also have a Nighthawk MR1100 from Best Buy, submitted a request for unlock code via their "Submit a Question" a week ago and no reply yet. I tried going through AT&T and get a pop up "Looks like the device you want to unlock is active on another AT&T account." (OTR?) Their website says everything taking longer with Corona...
Thanks
Mike

Report on the TMobil so far. First 24 hours. Downtown Pahrump, NV in Wallys. Good strong signal comparable to ATT. Left the area to travel but used it several times for a short while over the day time and it was fine. Set up in the boonies around three. Signal was shown as very strong and it was 17 down. Went back to use it to watch some TV at dinner time and no internet at all. Signal still read very good. This morning same thing. Great signal/no internet. To be fair Verizon (off of the phone and free due to the flu) showed 3 bars but is very slow. It is Easter. Everyone is calling Mom. Some throttling is expected. I'll report back tomorrow.
UPDATE 9:45 PST Suddenly got wifi. Low speed but usable.

Gave OTR the information of 3/4 - received the e-mail with the unlock from OTR on 4/2

Now that you are using the new service do you notice slowdowns at some times of the day? Are they severe? I am considering it.
