Pls check my reasoning

Ok, I have a wilson sleek cellphone signal booster that is made for a car. I plan to use it in my RV. I have worked out where the booster will go, and where the power will come from. My only real issue is I want to use the small "shark fin" magnetic mount antenna. I read that it because it needs a ground plane to get the signal, that it could be put onto a piece of metal that is 8 inches by 8 inches square. I want to put it on the roof right behind the vent in the front of the RV. This works well for running the wire into the vent cover and into the vent and into the rv. It also would make it easy to remove when its time to put the RV away for the winter. I will cover all edges of the metal with eternabond tape as well as the bottom that would sit on the TPO roof. The metal would be secured with more eternabond only around the edges to keep as much metal exposed to act as the ground plane. The metal to be used is galvanized to keep it from rusting. Thoughts? Ideas? Better ways of doing this? I'm open to suggestions

I put a little larger piece of metal on the roof for my magnetic antenna (I think about 12x18) and first painted the metal with a couple coats of white appliance paint. I did that about 3 years ago and it’s still holding up well. It was some steel that I bought from Home Depot.

The metal doesn't have to be "exposed" to work it just needs the antenna sitting directly on it.

I also use a Sleek and have a metal plate as you have described. I decided to use a piece of ferromagnetic stainless steel so I didn't have to worry about rust, etc. I used double-sided automotive trim tape to attach the metal to the roof. It's been there for several years now without an issue.
